My name’s Marina, and I’m the Founder of Milestones Marketing.
I began my writing career at the University of Michigan, writing for the Michigan Daily as a sports reporter. It was the only topic I felt comfortable covering because I was an athlete at UMich. I soon realized that I didn’t like writing about sports. But I did like storytelling. I exercised my writing skills so that I could excel in a writing career post-college...

✔️ Then I got a job as an Associate Editor with Medical Knowledge Group.
✔️ Then I was pouched via Twitter to be an Editor at Spoon University.
✔️ Then I took inventory of all my professional skills and said f*ck it. I began my freelance writing career in 2017.
My freelance career began with journalism, covering topics in travel, lifestyle, food, and health. I love sharing stories and advice with a large audience while following a publication’s style guide and tone of voice. I’ve written travel guides for TripSavvy, personal travel stories for Fodor’s, branded content for TripAdvisor, and other articles for outlets here and there.
I developed a niche in travel, which Is fitting considering it’s a huge part of my life.
As of today, I've explored over 40 countries, and I live between Australia and the United States. When 2020 rolled around (lol you know where this is going), the travel industry came to a halt. As did travel writing. So I asked myself — how can I continue telling stories?
Marketing.
Over the years, I dabbled in marketing without realizing it. I did what they call Content Marketing Writing for brands and publications. But to me, I thought I was just storytelling. With wheels turning, I shifted my focus away from journalism and into the world of sharing cool stories about brands and businesses. I love content marketing because I can craft a narrative that will actually grow a business.
I built Milestones Marketing because I noticed that personal brands and small businesses struggle to make time for content writing. Buying ads is great and all, but content marketing is a greater time investment that provides long term gains. I provide personalized writing services so that you can focus on other aspects of your business.
While I've carved a niche in travel and yachting, I'm not boxed into one category. I enjoy supporting all types of businesses to boost direct bookings/sales and build relationships with their community.
